SOSUIBEN’s office is located in Valletta, the capital city of Malta. Viewing the map of Europe, Malta simply lies 93 kilometres (58 miles) South of Sicily (Italy) in Southern Europe; consisting of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. The country’s official languages are Maltese and English. Malta’s capital city, Valletta, is centrally located on the Island’s north coast and has the largest harbour. The Island of Malta is considered the most developed Island. Its sister Island Gozo is idyllic and peaceful and principally rural, providing exciting views and nice opportunities for outside activities, like hiking, biking and mountain climbing. Comino is to be the smallest Island of the three Islands in Malta and is heavily inhabited. It has many beautiful lagoons like blue lagoon which attracts by the multiple tourists from all over the world.
Malta got its independence from the UK as a sovereign Commonwealth realm on September 21, 1964, and became a Republic State in 1974. It is also a member State of the Commonwealth Countries. Malta’s parliamentary system and public management closely tally the Westminster’s system. It conducts its political activities within the context of a parliamentary representative democratic republic with three levels of presidency. Malta Authority’s system is comparable to the EU Charter of native self-determination.
Our Donors and Partner Organisations as well as the Maltese have supported African people during their times of need, especially when they face devastating experiences, social issues or political unrest in their countries and have continued to do so till this day.
